On completion of a full time diploma in Building Studies, Andy served a four year apprenticeship with Walter Llewellyn and Sons, a large family run local building contractor/developer, as a Junior Technician. During this time he gained an HNC in Building Studies. To broaden his knowledge base further, Andy completed a two year apprenticeship with a local civil and structural engineering practice as an Engineering Assistant/CAD Technician, where he gained a further HNC.

Following this, in 1993, Andy was employed for nine years by Rydon Homes Limited, a regional housing developer, where he was Senior Architectural Co-ordinator, working on many residential developments and overseeing all aspects from Planning to Sales. This position also included an amount of site inspection duties, which greatly increased his knowledge further.

By 2001, Andy was employed by a local Architect's practice as a Project Manager where he was quickly promoted to Associate Director and then Technical Team Leader in early 2004. Andy was responsible for managing multiple projects also to train and supervise a team of technicians on a number of large residential schemes for many regional and national developers.

With Mike’s support and commitment, Andy established Picardy Design in late 2006 and continued the high level of professionalism demonstrated throughout his career.

With two children his free time is limited but Andy enjoys badminton (often four times per week), running (three times per week), mountain biking and windsurfing (when conditions allow). 

Mike began work in 1975 as a Surveyors Assistant helping out on structural surveys and building society valuations. During this time he gained his ONC and HNC in Building Studies. Gaining further experience at an architectural practice he moved to McCarthy and Stone PLC in 1984, starting as an Architectural Technician before becoming an Assistant Structural Engineer. Mike then progressed to become a job running Senior Technician specialising in sheltered housing developments.

In 1989 he worked for Walter Llewellyn and Sons, a large family run local building contractor/developer, as a Senior Technician, project managing a wide range of schemes including residential, industrial, educational and sports facilities from planning stage through to completion.

By 2002 Mike moved to an Architect's practice within the county where, with much respect from colleagues and clients alike, he worked as a Senior Technician/Project Manager on a number of large residential developments.

Finally at the start of 2007, Mike joined Picardy Design as a founder member and conscientiously continues his work to his client's high expectations.

Mike is married with two daughters, finding little free time to pursue his hobby of astronomy.

Paul began work in the architectural field in 2003 at a local Architect’s practice as a trainee CAD technician, carrying out site surveys and drawing up architectural plans in Drawing Express.

In 2005, after teaching himself AutoCAD, Paul secured a position with a larger local practice, as a Junior Technician, responsible for architectural draughting for its technical drawing department. During this time, Paul gained valuable construction knowledge, studied for and attained an HNC in Construction and was promoted to technician level with responsibility for running projects.

Paul joined Picardy Design in early 2007 as a Project Manager. Paul has reinforced his knowledge of construction and has had the opportunity to master several graphic intense software packages including Autodesk’s Impression and 3D Studio Max as well as Adobe Photoshop. Paul has become somewhat of the advanced AutoCAD guru and has developed AutoLISP routines to massively streamline drawing production, organisation and efficiency. Paul is extremely methodical and makes excellent use of these skills to produce architectural drawings, visualisations and marketing material for the company.

Despite completing four half marathons, Paul still enjoys running!

Paul began work in the 1986 for an Architect’s practice as a draughtsman, where he was involved in various projects which included ecclesiastical work. In 1988 he moved employment to the Hastings Health Authority, where he had a secondment to work with the architectural practice on site during the construction of the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

During the period between 1989 and 2007, Paul was employed as an Architectural Technician by various local Architects’ practices. He prepared planning and working drawings for numerous residential and commercial projects, which included new residential care homes and nursery schools. More recently he was responsible for the production of both planning and construction drawings for ‘The Big White House’, a large private residence in Pett, East Sussex, which was featured on Channel 4’s documentary Grand Designs.

Paul joined Picardy Design in autumn 2007 and is appointed as Project Manager, where he oversees the design team in the production of drawings for many notable regional and national developers. Paul has developed his skills further in 3D CAD design to great effect.

Paul is married with two children and when he is not working he likes to get outdoors, partaking in his hobbies of photography, cycling and stand-up paddle boarding.
